What is a Concrete Slab?
A concrete slab is a flat horizontal area of poured concrete. The function of a concrete slab is to provide a solid base for a building, be it an indoor living space or an outdoor space, such as a patio, and serve as a very hard-wearing and long-lasting floor surface. One of the primary functions of a concrete slab is to distribute all of the weight from the structure and everything in/on it down into the earth in a way that will prevent the slab from settling. Thusly, when properly constructed, it provides a very stable base upon which to build.
The amount of thickness and/or reinforcement needed in a concrete slab will depend on the intended usage of the slab. For example, a small, simple garden shed does not require a lot of structural integrity (i.e., thickness/reinforcement) compared to a garage slab, which is subject to being used by automobiles. 3) Base Preparation

In cases where there is an excessive amount of moisture present in the soil at the slab site, we can install a vapor barrier to prevent moisture migration through the slab.
4) Form Setting
We set our forms to accurately reflect the size of your slab, including the overall thickness, and to ensure that the entire area receives the same amount of concrete during the pour.
5) Reinforcement Placement
Adding steel reinforcement or installing wire mesh within your slab helps to increase its overall strength while helping to control the extent of any potential cracking. We place all reinforcement in accordance with the relevant engineering specifications.
6) Concrete Pouring and Finishing
We pour high-quality concrete and complete it to your specifications. Our team operates with a great deal of efficiency to complete the placement, consolidation, and finishing of the concrete prior to it beginning to set.
7) Curing
In order to develop the desired level of strength in your concrete, it must be cured properly. We protect freshly poured concrete and allow sufficient time for it to reach the design strength before placing any loads upon it.
