Our professionals at Boston Stamped Concrete Experts build functional concrete pathways and walkways that tie together your yard space as well as enhance the beauty and accessibility of your home. The design of your pathway is more than just a means of traveling from one place to another. It can guide people through your yard, establish boundaries between areas, improve the safety of your outdoor spaces, and add visual interest and structural elements to your landscaping. Our stamped concrete pathways and walkways will serve both form and function for your outdoor living spaces.
We have built numerous stamped concrete walkways in the Greater Boston Area. We have knowledge on designing pathways to withstand heavy foot traffic, proper water flow management, and the freeze-thaw cycle associated with our winter weather conditions. Whether you are looking to build a single entrance way pathway or a complex network of pathways throughout your garden, we can help you turn your ideas into a reality.

We design and install various types of concrete walkways to match your property’s needs:
Walkways at Your Front Door
Your entrance is an opportunity to express yourself to others. Your front door is often a guest’s first impression of your house. A front entrance walkway may create a pathway to your front door that is inviting and safely accessible.
Walkways Through Your Gardens
Walkways are a great way to create a sense of wonder in your gardens as you wind through them. They can be straight and formal, or curved and informal, depending on your garden style.
Sidewalks Connecting Your Driveway to Entrances or Pedestrian Routes
Our concrete sidewalk construction can help connect your driveway to other parts of your property, including entrances, and create pathways for pedestrians through your yard.
Perimeter Paths Around Your House
These perimeter paths create ways for you to maintain your yard, provide connections between outdoor spaces, and also establish boundaries between your home and yard.
Paths Linking Features in Your Backyard
Paths can link your patio to other features in your backyard, such as a shed, a garden, or a playground area. Paths enhance the function of your yard and add a level of order visually in your landscape.
We offer extensive concrete paths and walkways design options:
Formal Straight Paths
Paths using straight lines are great for formal areas (such as an entrance), provide easy access, and are suited to traditional-style homes.
Casual Curved Paths
Paths using gentle curved lines create informal, inviting paths that fit into naturalized planting schemes; they are also ideal for use in casual and garden settings.
Narrow to Wide Path Options
The width of your path will affect both how you use it and how it looks. A typical main walkway is usually 4-5 feet wide; garden paths can be very narrow, at 2-3 feet, to create an intimate setting.
Decorative Concrete Finishes
You may choose from several types of decorative finishes, including stamping patterns, exposing aggregate texture, coloring your concrete, or finishing your concrete with a smooth finish. All of these decorative options produce visually distinct results while creating long-lasting surfaces.
Concrete Walkway Borders and Accents
Using contrasting borders, decorative bands, or installing lights under your walkways adds visual appeal, helps define your walkways, and provides improved safety by making them more visible at night.

Our concrete paths and walkways construction process ensures durability and proper performance:
1. Layout and Marking
We are going to lay out where the walkway will go and establish a grade for your walkway so that when we start building, you will see what the finished walkway will look like.
2. Excavation
We will remove enough dirt to provide an area to lay the base material and then the concrete.
3. Base Preparation
The compacted gravel base will provide drainage and support stability under the walkway. We take the time to do this part right because if we don’t, the walkway may crack and settle.
4. Form Setting
We will put in place the forms to define the edges of the walkway and to ensure that the correct amount of thickness is applied. The forms can be straight or curved, depending on how you want your walkway to look.
5. Concrete Pouring
We will pour quality concrete into the forms and consolidate the concrete to prevent voids from forming in the walkway. When the concrete is poured correctly, it will form a solid, even walkway.
6. Finishing
After the concrete has been poured, we will apply a finish of your choice (smooth, textured, stamped). Then we will slope the walkway to drain water off of it.
7. Control Joints
To help control cracks in the walkway, we will install control joints at regular intervals. These joints will allow the concrete to expand and contract as needed.
8. Curing and Sealing
Correct curing will develop strength in your new walkway, and applying a sealant will protect your walkway from stains and moisture.

Concrete pathways and walkways are integrated into your total outside vision for landscape design.
Your walkways should complement your landscape, rather than overpower it. Placement of walkways is used to frame your plantings, provide focal areas, and direct movement throughout your garden. Your walkway will be a component of your garden experience, as well as a way to get from one area to another.
When designing the pathways and walkways of your outdoor design using concrete, we take into consideration how the walkways interact with your outdoor living space, your water feature, garden beds, and other components of your landscape design. This results in an overall design that works together.
